Community Day for Rolling Together (September)

Our latest Community Day took place on a bright, breezy Saturday, September 21st. This month, two special guests headed our lineup.

Alisha “A-Spinz” Webster, accompanied by skate partner Jay L, led a jam and workshop that attendees on all sorts of wheels–roller skates, bikes, even a scooter or two—could enjoy.

Also joining us was artist and paleontology aficionado Samir Lijon-Ali, aka the Dinosaur King, who walked us through making our own dino-themed crafts from common household items.

As always, we also did some gardening, shared refreshments, listened to a live music set (by DJ PayDay this time around), and chatted with the Overton Exchange vendors, including:

As the weather cools, our season of programming is coming to a close! We’d love to see you at our final Community Day of 2024:

Saturday, October 19th

11am - 3pm

Overton, 4927 S. Indiana Ave.

The Overton Exchange POP is brought to you by the City of Chicago’s Public Outdoor Plaza (POP!) program, designed to create strategic community gathering spaces that serve as destination points for residents and neighborhood visitors.
